Cinderella Sarah Two: New and On Sale!

I know it's been a while since I've visited your inbox (more on that later) but I am excited to be chatting to you again. I really hope things are going well for you and your family this year. 

If you enjoyed Cinderella Sarah (from the free Bookbox you received when you signed up to my newsletter), you'll love the stories in Cinderella Sarah Two (I think my writing is getting better- even my math-loving husband liked these ones!  He didn't roll his eyes at any of them).

2. Where I've Been Hiding

I haven't sent an email to you since last year!  At the beginning of the year our family tourist campervan business was super busy.  It's only Peter (my husband) and I involved and it was the first successful year since Covid. We were kept busy until March looking after customers and vans. It's a great business because our customer are so happy to be seeing NZ and they come back with great stories...and great photos. We always make a lot of new friends.

After that I had a serious attempt at sorting out the 3000 palms we inherited from a friend who was moving off his property and needed to relocate his palm "hobby". Oh boy! That's been madness. I spent weeks preparing for a Plant Marketday, stayed there selling palms for 10 hours, and made $13 after all the costs. Somehow I don't think I'm cut out to be a nursery manager. Though I do love being outside and talking to the palms!

Then came June. Peter and my daughter Amy and I headed to the UK to visit our son, Daniel. He is studying for his PhD over there so we had a great time catching up with him and stealing him away to Croatia for a week. He insisted on taking us on walks up high mountains and we insisted on taking him to the stores to get him some new clothes.  I don't know who suffered the most. :) Let's just say we both did a lot of trudging.

On the 32 hour trip home to New Zealand, I wrote four short stories! Hence the new book, Cinderella Sarah Two.

3. Where is the Mysterious Minstrel Story?

If you're looking for the next chapter in the Mysterious Minstrel story I'm sorry to say I decided not to keep writing it for the newsletter. Only a few people were voting each time so I figured it wasn't particularly interesting for most of you. But I will finish it and make the whole story available to you once it's completed.  That's not likely to happen though until next year because I have booked in my editor to review my new book in September, but  I haven't even started writing it yet! Oh-oh. It's going to be the next story in the Crime Stopper Kid's Mysteries and is set in Italy. I can't wait to see what happens to the kids!! Neither can my editor. Oops.

4. Jungle Jokes

Lots of people have said they loved the story Morris the Monkey from Cinderella Sarah  One. I've written a second story featuring Morris in Cinderella Sarah Two; so in his honor, I  thought I should share some jungle jokes.

1. What do you call a lion who rules the jungle
-An Emperoar!

2. What does the lion drive around the jungle?
-a furr-ari!

3. What kind of jungle snake would you find on a car?
-A windshield viper
4. How do elephants stay cool in the hot jungle?
- Ear conditioning

5. How do you make a toasted sandwich in the jungle?
-Put it under a gorilla.

5. Something New: A Puzzle
